Writing has always been my first response to anything important happening in my life. It’s the way I figured it all out when I was little, and the way I still try to do so to this day.

So, it was easy to call myself a writer, even before there were any readers to consider.

But calling myself an author is different. In my mind, an author is a writer of a book that has been publlished.

With that being my goal for this new year, my path has taken an interesting turn. I was actually awarded a book project through Atlantic Publishing Company in Florida. My first assigned title, and those who know me best may find this quite humorous, “The Parent’s Guide to Uncluttering Your Home.”

It is my research project for the moment, with stacks of books surrounding me, (which oddly enough, add to my own personal clutter). But I have an editor, deadlines, and this will become my first published book.

Once this is finished, I will move on to my personal projects that temporarily find themselves on the back burner. I long to write stories that matter, that touch the heart, and maybe even the soul of my readers. Though it may be awhile before these words find their way to book form, I hope it will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, I will keep you posted on my progress. I’m thankful for this opportunity – as it will strengthen my writing and editing muscles.

Becoming an expert on clutter, or rather decluttering, requires quite a bit of focus. For now, I must go.

As alwasy, thanks for being here.
