Just As I Am?

The old hymn beckons a  with these words:

“Just as I am, without one plea

But that thy blood was shed for me.

And that thou bidst me come to thee.

O Lamb of God, I come. I come.”

The lyrics ring true. All Jesus asks of us is that we come, just as we are. His blood is more than enough to cover our past, present, and future.

But that is only the beginning of the relationship. If we come, we begin to learn more. We ask questions, dig deeper, meet some new friends who can help point us in the right direction. It’s a trailhead for a lifetime journey, not a freeway with frequent entry and exit points.

That desire to connect with the mysterious man in a treasured photograph gave her a deep love for the endless possibilities of a healing and everlasting story. Janet's debut novel, Solomon's Porch, is scheduled for release in July of 2021 through Elk Lake Publishing. She is also a writer/music reviewer for Nashville Arts & Entertainment and Crossroad Magazines, a devotional contributor to Christian Woman, Power for Today, Inspire a Fire, and The Christian Pulse. She wrote The Parent’s Guide to Uncluttering the Home, released in 2011.
